So I've been at this academy for a while now...in fact, I was one of our very first recruits. Since then, I have recruited a total of approximately twenty members, making me responsible for quite a number of our current members. 14 of these members were in the past month. I must be pretty good at recruiting in order to do that, right? Well, here's why: I host recruiter duels. A 'recruiter duel,' as i have named it, is when you host a locked duel with a duel note advertising your academy, clan, etc.
There is a technique to this, though. You have to keep unhosting and rehosting the duel until your duel is visible to players without scrolling down. Only then can you sit back and wait for people to flood you with messages asking to join (and yes that happens immediately). Here is the duel note I use when I host recruiter duels:

Additionally, you have to make sure the recruitees know what an academy is. Here is the description I keep on copy-paste for duelists who don't know what an online duel academy is (divided into three parts to fit the maximum message length on DN):
A duel academy is a place where online duelists duel each other; either casually, in tournaments/events, or in other forms of organized competition. By doing good in duels, you can earn points
which can be spent in any of several stores at the academy: some are deck shops, some will provide profile pictures/post signatures for your academy profile, and the main shop even as the option to
test for admin status. everyone there is really nice, and we have a public chat system which is almost always occupied by two or more people who are up to talk.
Now get out there and GET RECRUITING!!!
